How to Keep Your Electricity Bill Low While Working from Home
Many people are eagerly waiting for the day when COVID-19 won’t return. However, it’s unfortunate that at the end of 2020, there was a new surge in infections, which led many companies to have their employees work from home. One of the most common complaints is the increase in electricity bills, a problem that most office workers share.
Today, we’re going to share some easy tips to save electricity and reduce your expenses.
- Unplug Electrical Appliances: After using an electrical appliance, always check if the plug is still connected to the socket. Even though the appliance is turned off, there may still be current running through it. Failing to unplug can lead to increased electricity usage.
- Set Your Computer Screen to Sleep Mode: If you need to take a break from your computer screen, make sure to set it to sleep mode to save energy.
- Use Natural Light: If you want to save electricity, open the windows to let in natural light instead of turning on the lights.
- Use Fans Instead of Air Conditioners: If the weather isn’t too hot, opt for using a fan instead of the air conditioner. This will help you save a significant amount on your electricity bill.
- Adjust Air Conditioner Settings: If you need to use the air conditioner, set the temperature no lower than 26°C (78.8°F). You can also turn on a fan to help distribute the cool air throughout the room.
Lastly, don’t forget to take breaks and stretch during long hours of work. It’s important to rest your body as well as your mind!
